Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) staff support and guide faculty and staff during the proposal development process and are the only employees authorized to submit proposals on behalf of PSU. If you are interested in submitting a proposal for external funding, please complete and submit the Notification of Intent to Submit form to notify SPA staff as soon an opportunity is identified, whether or not it is in response to a formal solicitation.

Please note: SPA must be notified at least three weeks before the submission deadline.

If you have questions for the SPA team, please direct them to the team's official email addresses.

Funding Opportunities by Discipline

Research Bridge Funding

Bridge funds are available on a competitive basis from the Office of Research & Graduate Studies to provide temporary salary and fringe benefit support to non-tenure-related employees critical to sustaining research programs and sponsored activities in instances where an external research grant or funding source has expired, where a hiatus in funding would jeopardize the research, and where renewal of funding is expected in the near future. The funds are for one-time support only in cases where the Principal Investigator (PI) has experienced a significant reduction in extramural funding. The Bridge Funding Program is not intended for 'pilot' or 'seed' funding. Visit the Research Bridge Funding page for more information.
