Biography:

Talitha May holds a Ph.D. in English from Ohio University and M.A. from Colorado State University. She specializes in critical pedagogy in addition to critical and cultural approaches to rhetoric and composition. Prior to joining PSU, she served as Assistant Director of Composition at Ohio University and was recognized with a College of Arts & Sciences outstanding teaching award. She also directed the graduate writing center at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin where she taught communicating policy and professional report writing. She was awarded the UT President’s Outstanding Staff Award. Dr. May teaches Writing as Critical Inquiry with a focus on rhetoric, intersectionality, and social justice issues.
