Recent ECE Department News

Big things have been happening for ECE facutly, students, and alumni this academic year.

Here are a few of the highlights:

• Dr. Roy Kravitz announced in January that AMD/Xilinx donated 50 seats of their FPGA design suite to ECE.  This continues a long line of support from AMD/Xilinx for design tools and some hardware going back more than 10 years. 

• Teuscher:.Lab intern, Samyak Shrimali, was selected as a Top 300 Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) Scholar, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors.

• Dr. John Lipor's student, Pascal Caraccioli Salinas, was featured in an Inside PSU, Proud Viks article in February for his USGS Internship. PSU student ‘living his dream’ with USGS internship – INSIDE PORTLAND STATE (pdx.edu)

• Undergrad student Nancy MacKenzie and ECE PhD student Sandy Dash (both working with Dr. Teuscher) gave testimony at the state legislature public session in March for Oregon Senate Bill 4 (https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2023R1/Measures/Analysis/SB4). The goal of the testimony for the Semiconductor Committee was to ask the Oregon legislators to invest in a stronger future for the state and for the semiconductor industry.
