Every week during the academic year, Currently celebrates faculty and staff accomplishments, including appearances on panels, presentations, recent publications or performances, and research grants.

  1. Roberta Hunte, social work faculty, Kevin Kecskes, public administration faculty, and Christopher Carey, criminology and criminal justice faculty, presented “Equity, Conflict Mapping and Adaptive Leadership: A Theory of Transformative Change” on behalf of the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Near East Affairs/Middle East Partnership Initiative, Student Leaders Program, on July 29.
  2. Jeremy Spoon, Emergency Management and Community Resilience program director and anthropology faculty, co-presented “Understanding Household Recoveries Following the 2015 Nepal Earthquakes” at the Virtual International Symposium on Nepal’s Reconstruction in August. 
  3. Lindsey Wilkinson and Dara Shifrer, sociology faculty, co-authored “Educational Outcomes of Gender Diverse Students: A National Population-Based Study” which was accepted as a paper at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association.
  4. Lindsey Wilkinson, sociology faculty, presented “School Supports, Community Context, and the Educational Experiences of LGBTQ Youth” at the (virtual) annual meeting of the American Sociological Association.
  5. Hyeyoung Woo, sociology faculty, co-presented “For More and For Better: Children’s Education and Korean American’s Utilization of Ties to Korea” at the (virtual) annual meeting of the American Sociological Association.
