Research and Graduate Studies (RGS) at Portland State University (PSU) is accepting feedback from the campus community on the penultimate draft of the Research and Graduate Studies (RGS) Roadmap to 2030. This roadmap outlines ambitious goals for the future of research and graduate education at PSU, and input from the wider PSU community is critical as we finalize it.
This roadmap is designed to complement and support PSU’s new Strategic Plan: Future in Focus, ensuring that our efforts in research and graduate studies are aligned with the university’s broader vision. It reflects the priorities and aspirations set forth by the strategic plan while addressing the unique needs of RGS.
This roadmap is the result of listening sessions, focus groups with faculty, RGS staff retreats, and numerous reports over the past several years from task forces, consultants, and self-studies. The input you’ve provided over the past year has been instrumental in shaping this key strategic document for RGS, and we are deeply grateful for your contributions.
Now, as we approach the final version, we want to make sure it reflects the broader needs and aspirations of our campus community.
What’s included:
- New mission, vision, and guiding commitments for RGS that align with PSU’s Strategic Plan: Future in Focus.
- 16 goals, 46 objectives, and 168 strategies, divided into five integrated sections covering topics such as research excellence, student success, operational excellence, and inclusive excellence.
- A detailed outline of how the roadmap aligns with the university’s broader strategic goals, provided in Appendix 1.
How to participate:
We are committed to considering the feedback we receive before releasing the final version in late November/early December.
