In August 2025, Stanford University and Elsevier released updated data identifying the world’s most-cited researchers. Several Portland State University faculty members are listed among the top 2% most-cited researchers globally, based on metrics compiled from Elsevier’s Scopus database — one of the largest and most comprehensive indexes of peer-reviewed research worldwide.
The dataset ranks scientists by both career-long impact and single-year impact, recognizing those whose scholarship has made exceptional contributions to their fields.
