At Portland State’s The School of Business, we are committed to helping students transform their lives through education. Many of our students face unexpected financial challenges that can disrupt their academic journey, and the Student Hardship Fund offers vital support to help them stay enrolled without taking on additional debt.
With an average award of under $2,000, this fund helps cover essential needs such as internet access, textbooks, health insurance, and food security. These are real barriers that can determine whether a student is able to continue toward their degree.
Your contribution directly supports students as they navigate these challenges and continue working toward their goals.

$50 covers one month of internet
$250 provides a month of food support
$420 purchases textbooks for a term
$930 provides health insurance for a term
$1,800 fulfills an average hardship request
