Kathi Inman Berens, English faculty, led a workshop, Planning for What's Next with AI on Your Campus, and presented a paper, Human in the Loop: Experiments in AI+, AI- and AI*, at the Modern Language Association convention in Toronto Jan. 7-11, 2026.

Nila Friedberg, world languages and literatures faculty, presented a paper titled Creating Materials for Mixed Classrooms: Heritage and L2 Learners of Russian in Advanced ‘Content’ Courses at the Heritage Language Development Workshop, which focused on a variety of heritage languages and was hosted by Bar Ilan University in Israel on Nov. 10 ‘25.

Piman Limpaphayom, School of Business faculty, presented "The impact of banking deregulation and financial liberalization on risk-taking and technical efficiency: The case of keiretsu non-life insurers after the Japanese Big Bang" at the Financial Economics Meeting at the EDC Paris Business School, December 15-17.

Suwako Watanabe, world languages and literatures faculty, gave a presentation titled, Leveraging Professional Organization for Advocacy, on the Advocacy for World Languages: Sustainable Strategies That Work panel, at the Modern Language Association Convention in Toronto, Canada, January 10, 2026.
