PSU’s Department of Sociology received a Chapter Activity Award ($750) from Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Honor Society of Sociology, thanks to a plan developed by Hyeyoung Woo, sociology faculty and Chair, a proposal compiled by Dara Shifrer, sociology faculty, and edited by Iris S. De Lis, sociology graduate student and SOC Club Facilitator. These funds will support a series of five AKD Writing Mini-Retreats in Cramer 265 (with refreshments!!) on the first and third Fridays in February, March, and April.
PSU’s Department of Sociology received an Induction Ceremony Speaker Honorarium Award ($500) from Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Honor Society of Sociology thanks to a plan developed by Hyeyoung Woo, sociology faculty and Chair, a proposal compiled by Dara Shifrer, sociology faculty. These funds will support funding two graduates from PSU’s Sociology doctoral program to speak at the new induction ceremony for new AKD members at the end of the academic year.
