Emergency Meal Vouchers
Are You in Need of a Meal?
Thanks to a generous donation from PSU Eats, the Committee for Improving Student Food Security is offering a limited number of free emergency meal vouchers each week to currently enrolled students in need of a meal. Students will have a meal loaded onto their student ID card, good for use at Victor’s Dining Center in the Ondine Residence Hall. The meal will be available at the next available meal time, and students have one week to use the meal.
Accessing Emergency Meal Vouchers
In order to receive a free emergency meal voucher, students need to schedule a time to meet virtually (phone, Zoom, or Google Hangout) with one of the people who has volunteers to help with distribution.
When you contact them by email, it is helpful if you include some times that you would be available to meet. Keep in mind, all of our volunteers are all full-time staff with their own calendar of meetings and obligations. They will work with you to find a time that works for both of you. Once a time is identified, they will email you with either a phone number or a virtual meeting link.
What to Expect at your Meeting
As a PSU Student accessing an emergency meal voucher, our volunteers will also make sure that you are aware of all of the food resources available on campus and answer any questions you may have about accessing those resources.
You will need to provide your PSU ID Number, as that is how we coordinate with PSU Eats to be able to load the meal to your Student ID card.
They will make sure you know when you can access the meal, as well as when it will expire from your ID. Emergency Meal Vouchers need to be redeemed within the week that they are loaded to your Student ID card.
