Submission Process

Thank you for your interest in donating art to the Portland State University (PSU) Art Collection. Requests are submitted for consideration to the Art Collection Advisory Committee and are reviewed twice a year in April and October.

In order for the committee to review your request, please complete the Art Object Donation Form. Once submitted, a PSU representative will contact you.

Accession Criteria

The committee uses a rubric to assist in determining whether a work should be accessioned and considers

• Relevancy with the Art Collection Mission
• Significance of the artist(s) to the University and its communities
• Whether the work represents the University's commitment to the inclusion of historically marginalized communities
• Whether the work represents new creativity and research connected to the University
• Preservation needs
• Ownership and permissions
• Aesthetic significance
