Art Collection Advisory Committee

The Art Collection Advisory Committee is a standing subcommittee of the Capital Advisory Committee and is an Administrative Committee recognized by the Faculty Senate.  The committee is comprised of a collection of faculty, staff and students from across the campus and is charged with:

  • Advocating for the acquisition, display, maintenance, and conservation of works of art of the highest quality and/or educational value in the University’s Art Collection. The committee shall make recommendations to the Chair and/or the University President on the accession and deaccession of works of art and other matters as described in this policy.
  • Recommending mural designs and locations.
  • Reviewing and updating the Art Collection Management Policy.
  • Reviewing the vision of the collection every 5 years.

Committee Mission

The Art Collection Advisory Committee recognizes the significance and value of works of art as educational resources and sites of opportunity for scholarly discourse and cultural awareness.

The Committee seeks to enrich the aesthetic experience of individuals at PSU and in the community by advocating for the acquisition, display, maintenance and conservation of works of art of the highest quality in the campus collection.
