DR. SCOTT DuHADWAY

Scott DuHadway is an Associate Professor at Portland State University, where he studies supply chain management — specifically supply chain failures: when systems collapse, what causes them, and what can be done about it, with an emphasis on human behavior. His work addresses questions such as: How do we understand risk from an organizational and network perspective when many of the underlying decisions are made by individuals? How does unethical behavior spread within a supply chain? How do we prevent supply chain fraud? And what makes people ignore unethical problems in their supply chain — or choose to act as guardians of it? To explore these questions, Scott draws on human behavior, ethics, behavioral operations, and network analysis, using a variety of methods including surveys, behavioral experiments, simulations, conceptual papers, network models, game theory, and qualitative research on supply chain failures. His research has been published in top journals in the field, including the Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Operations Management, and Journal of Business Logistics, among others.
