DR MELINDA HUTSON
Melinda Hutson is the curator for the Cascadia Meteorite Laboratory in the Department of Geology at Portland State University. She earned a B.S. in Geophysics from the University of Minnesota, a M.S. in Earth and Space Sciences from SUNY, Stony Brook, and a Ph.D. in Planetary Science with a minor in Geosciences from University of Arizona. Dr. Hutson has taught a wide range of classes at PSU in the Department of Geology and the Department of Environmental Science and Management, and has mentored undergraduate students and high school students working on meteorite-related projects. Her research projects have varied from silicate inclusions in iron meteorites to exotic clasts in stony meteorites, and she has classified over 150 meteorites.
