DR. JENSINE PAOLETTI-HATCHER
Dr. Paoletti-Hatcher is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Portland State University. She is currently conducting research on dementia caregivers' work-life balance, an area she experienced firsthand as the primary caregiver for a relative with dementia. Dr. Paoletti-Hatcher applies a biopsychosocial approach to her program of research with the goal of making work-life balance more feasible and healthier for everyone. Her research draws from several disciplines, especially occupational health psychology and psychoneuroimmunology. She studies how experiences with work and family can affect self-reported well-being, biological processes associated with quality of life, and diseases of older adulthood. She is particularly interested in how positive psychological and interpersonal processes can build resilience to stress.
Previously, she was a Ruth L. Kirschstein NIH National Research Service Award (F32) Postdoctoral Fellow, studying how people balance working and caring for a spouse with dementia. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Rice University. Dr. Paoletti-Hatcher has published in outlets such as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes and Psychoneuroendocrinology.
