DR. ANGIE GARINIS

Dr. Garinis is a clinician-scientist with a strong track record of extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and industry partners. Her research program focuses on improving the early detection of ototoxicity, integrating behavioral and physiologic measures to better understand auditory function and development across vulnerable populations. Through this research, she aims to advance clinically feasible approaches for the earlier identification of hearing and balance changes and improved monitoring strategies.
In addition to her research program, Dr. Garinis serves as co-chair of the OHSU Resident Research Program and co-chair of the International Ototoxicity Management Working Group on aminoglycosides. Collectively, her work bridges foundational auditory science with clinically impactful applications, with the overarching goal of improving the early identification, prevention, and management of hearing loss in high-risk populations.
