Will Parnell has expertise in rethinking readiness in the early years, disrupting traditional early childhood research, creating learning designs and documenting and making young children’s learning visible.
Parnell qualitatively researches in schools with young children, educators and families to seek the meaning of lived experiences. He has written and edited three books and numerous journal articles on contemporary issues, rethinking research and practices in early childhood education. Parnell has also started many schools for young children, working with architects on place-making, space planning and pedagogy in architectural design.
