Dr. Jenny Liu is an environmental and resource economist with a focus in transportation economics, public policy and sustainability. Her recent research involves working with other researchers, city planners, policy makers and business communities to understand the economic implications of public policies such as infrastructure investments for active transportation, market mechanisms that target climate change and carbon emissions (i.e., carbon tax and carbon cap-and-trade), and public finance.

Alongside her role as an associate professor of Urban Studies and Planning, she is also the director of the Center for Urban Studies (CUS) and an assistant director of the Northwest Economic Research Center (NERC).
