Ryan Bass named Chief Information Officer

Ryan Bass was appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Office of Information Technology by Finance and Administration Vice President Kevin Reynolds.

Bass has worked at PSU for 18 years, and was the interim CIO for the last nine months. During his time at PSU, Bass has been instrumental in completing the redesign of our student web portal, championing the migration of data protection and disaster recovery capabilities to cloud infrastructure, and being part of the team that founded Link Oregon, a statewide research and education network.

In the announcement, Reynolds said Bass provided “consistent and dedicated leadership to the Office of Information technology, and continuing robust and beneficial relationships with campus partners. I am grateful to everyone for the feedback they provided during this period, and hope you will join me in congratulating Ryan on this well deserved promotion.”

Bass was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree from Seattle University and a Master of Business Administration degree from PSU. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, backpacking, skiing, and the occasional round of golf.
