  1. Michele Gamburd, Anthropology faculty, recently presented a talk titled “Unpaid But Repaid? Generalized Reciprocity and Women’s Care Work in Rural Families” at the Women and Media Collective digital conference on Equality and Equity in Recognizing Unpaid Care Work and Women’s Labour in South Asia, which took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka from Oct. 20-21.
  2. Marisa Zapata, Homelessness Research & Action Collaborative director and Urban Studies and Planning faculty, presented “Housing Really Ends Homelessness” on Oct. 18 as the keynote speaker at the Oregon Public Health Association Conference in Corvallis.
  3. Marisa Zapata, Homelessness Research & Action Collaborative director and Urban Studies and Planning faculty, co-moderated a town hall hosted by Street Roots and homeless advocacy groups on Nov. 1 to provide an opportunity for unhoused community members to give input to Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and Portland City Commissioner Dan Ryan on their proposals to address homelessness.
