Bright Alozie, Black Studies faculty and History Department affiliate faculty, received The Peggy Renner Award for Teaching and Curricular Innovation Outstanding Professor Award awarded by the Western Association of Women Historians at the 57th annual conference in Costa Mesa, California on April 24-26, 2025.

Tina Burdsall, Sociology faculty, was placed on the Endowment Committee of the Pacific Sociological Association (PSA) as well as invited to co-organize volunteers and the registration area for the PSA conference again next year with Karma Rose Zavita, a graduate student at UC Irvine.

Daniel Jaffee, Sociology faculty, had his research on bottled water, commodification, and social movements featured on the “AnthroDish” podcast.

Susan Kirtley, English faculty, was nominated for an Eisner Award, considered the "Oscars" of comics and the most prestigious honors in the comics industry, for her role as the editor of Inks: The Journal of the Comics Studies Society.

Aaron Roussell, Sociology faculty, was awarded a $2,500 Fellowship at the Second Book Institute at The University of Tulsa, OK.

Aaron Roussell, Sociology faculty, orchestrated a Narcan training that will be facilitated by Sharif Moonlight from PSU’s Center for Student Health & Counseling at PSU’s Native American Cultural Center on May 19.
