by Currently September 22nd 2022 Share Facebook Twitter Cynthia Carmina Gómez, Director of Community & Civic Impact in the Office of University Relations, received $25,000 in funding from the Higher Education Coordinating Commission in support of Portland State's Latiné Futures Initiative. The initiative convened Latiné leaders at Portland State's Native American and Community Center for a futures-oriented, trans-sector gathering to discuss pathways to higher education, climate change, and the changing workforce and develop a vision for collective wealth-building and well-being. Shane Day, public administration faculty, received a grant of $120,000 from the U.S. Department of Interior to support research and policy development on Native American community relocation in response to impacts from climate change as well as on federal-tribal co-management of natural resources.
