API Graduation

PSU holds its third annual API Graduation celebration on Saturday, June 8th, 2024 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom. API Graduation aims to honor and celebrate our Pacific Islander and Asian students at PSU as an integral part of our campus community. Each registered graduate will receive cords to commemorate their accomplishments as our community's next generation of graduates! We look forward to gathering as a community of students, family, staff, and faculty to recognize and celebrate our API Graduates at PSU, and hope to see you there!

Family-Friendly Commencement

Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024
Time: 3:00 - 6:00 pm
Location: Smith Memorial Student Union, SMSU Ballroom, room 355, 1825 SW Broadway

Services for Students with Children is hosting a commencement ceremony for graduating students with children at PSU in the Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom on May 30th, from 3 pm to 6 pm. This special event celebrates the accomplishments of students who have triumphed in pursuing their degrees at PSU while raising children.

To celebrate the contribution your children and spouse/partner have made to your achievement, they are invited to join you in receiving a family diploma and take a family graduation photo! Commencement regalia will be provided for your children to wear for the photo. In addition to the photo session, your family is invited to participate in fun crafts and games, bowling at the Viking Game Room, as well as receive a special Student with Children commemorative graduation stole as a gift for your incredible accomplishments. All this fun and celebration is free!

This event is limited by capacity and pre-registration is required.

Honor Day Graduation

Lavender Graduation

The Queer Resource Center at Portland State University is thrilled to invite you, your family, friends, and loved ones to our 15th annual Lavender Graduation! This is PSU's annual student-centered graduation to celebrate our Queer and Trans students achieving a major milestone in completing their degrees. QRC staff will follow up with you on event details and logistics. We are honored to share in your celebration!

Veteran and Military-Affiliated Commencement

Location: Native American Student and Community Center (NASCC), 710 SW Jackson St.

Are you a Veteran or Military-affiliated student graduating in the Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2023? If so, then you (and your family) are cordially invited to join us for a Veterans Spring Commencement on June 13th (Thursday), from 2-4 pm. This is a separate event from the larger PSU commencement ceremonies and is meant to be a smaller, more intimate ceremony celebrating your accomplishments and service.

Catering and refreshments will be provided from Elephant's Deli (including vegan options).

For graduating Veterans and service-members; if you would like your honorary military/Veteran graduation cord (a red, white, and blue cord), they will be available for pick up in the VRC.
