  1. Kathi Inman Berens and Rachel Noorda, English faculty, had their research featured on an episode of the podcast Velocity of Content, titled “Gen Z Love Libraries,” on Jan. 21.
  2. Scott Burns, Geology faculty, was interviewed live on KOIN TV Channel 6 on January 27 at the 5:30 PM newscast - opening story - about the Cascadia Earthquake of 1700 and its birthday.
  3. Martín Alberto Gonzalez, Chicanx/Latinx Studies faculty, was awarded the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education Book of the Year Award in the Early Career Category for his book Why you always so political?: The experiences and resiliencies of Mexican/Mexican American/Xicanx students in higher education.
  4. Andrés Holz, Geography faculty, was interviewed on the CNN-Chile channel as the Austral wildfire season kicks off.
  5. Subhash Kochar, Statistics faculty, was awarded the Distinguished Alumnus Award by Panjab University in Chandigarh India in December.
  6. Liu-Qin Yang, Psychology faculty, was elected as a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology in January 2024. This prestigious honor is in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in the profession of industrial and organizational psychology and is awarded to only a few members who have made significant contributions to the field.
