The Center for Women's Leadership at Portland State University Engaged Scholarship Projects

In Fall 2024, we launched our Engaged Scholarship initiative, a new program that will connect and create learning pods of faculty, students, and community members around consequential and mutually beneficial projects.

Each project is carefully curated in principles of co-creation, non-extractive collaboration, and fostering opportunities for PSU students to engage in leadership development alongside working on a community impact project.

This academic year we have 3 active projects for students and community partners to engage with. These projects are emergent and we recommend joining our newsletter and following us on social media to stay in the loop on upcoming ways to engage!

Compensation & Labor Approach

There's no current internship openings, check back here & follow us on social media for more opportunities!

CWL's Engaged Scholarship Projects are designed to engage students in non-extractive collaboration between PSU faculty, students and community members around consequential and mutually beneficial projects. We believe in supporting all members of these teams to be recognized for their substantive labor through compensation, practicum credit or tuition scholarship dependent upon each individuals unique scenario. Students engaging in the project will be asked to commit to working January-June 2025 (winter and spring term). Hourly compensation allocated for each of these student internships is $20.00.  Please contact cwlinfo@pdx.edu to connect with one of CWL's Co-Directors (Jessica Mole Heilman & Vicki Reitenauer) to discuss additional details.
