WLL Undergraduate Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship supports study in a term, semester or yearlong study abroad program with an explicit language component.

Criteria

You must meet the following requirements:

  • Full-time PSU student
  • Completion of at least 90 credits (junior standing)
  • Completing of at least 12 credits of a world language at PSU
  • 3.0 overall GPA
  • 3.4 GPA in all WLL classes
  • Financial need
  • Proposed study abroad program must be approved by PSU Education Abroad Office that takes place in a non-English-speaking country and has an explicit language component

Application

Your application must contain the following materials:

  • Completed online application
  • Transcripts of all course work (can be unofficial);
  • Essay with your language of study, international experience to date, plans to study abroad, and how your studying abroad experience will affect your future plans; and
  • Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which must be from PSU language faculty.

Farrens Endowed Scholarship for Overseas Study

This scholarship provides financial support to a student who might not otherwise be able to afford a study abroad trip of a term, semester or year to a non-English-speaking country. Although not required, we hope that students who receive this award will find a way to pay it forward by giving in some way to those PSU students who come after them.
