Student Leader Resource Center

SALP's Student Leader Resource Center is our central database of information for student groups, including “how-to” guides for organization operations, the SALP policy manual, FAQs, and links to leadership development and academic resources.

Leadership Fellows

Leadership Fellows is our year-long leadership development program for student organization leaders. Applications for a given academic year (starting in fall term) are accepted during the prior spring and summer. Participants in the Leadership Fellows program receive a $600 per-term ELSA scholarship.

Portland State Free Speech Guide

Portland State student leaders are empowered to use their voices and to express themselves on campus. This guide provides information on your rights and responsibilities, along with an FAQ and links to other resources.

Level Up! Leadership Training

SALP’s Level-Up! Program is a free, self-directed course designed to provide foundational leadership training for all PSU students. Students who finish the program will earn a certificate of completion and be invited to special campus leadership programming, along with additional options for recognition and engagement.

Student Leadership Retreat

Held annually every fall, the leadership retreat is an opportunity for SALP student leaders to connect with their peers and prepare for their organizational roles in the upcoming year.

Leader Connect Luncheon

Hosted in October, this luncheon is a chance for student leaders from across PSU to meet and mingle with one another and kick off the academic year.

Held in February, the annual Student Leadership Conference is a chance for student leaders from campuses across the Portland area to explore leadership skills and topics and network with each other.

Hosted in May, the Spring Leadership Luncheon is a chance to celebrate the success of student leaders from across campus at the conclusion of the academic year.

Funding Opportunities

Student Fee Committee

This Student Fee Committee (SFC) recommends the allocation of the Student Fee to the ASPSU Student Government, University President, and the PSU Board of Trustees. It is the job of the SFC to allocate money to student-funded programs and services that further the cultural and physical development of the students at large.

Organization Budget Council

The Organization Budget Council (OBC) is a funding board that serves as a sub-committee of the Student Fee Committee (SFC), providing funding and assistance to student organizations in the form of fiscal responsibility and budget development in order to enhance the university community.
