Spring people
  1. Anita Bright, Education faculty, moderated a panel titled “Meeting the Challenges of Today's Classrooms in Palestine” at the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Palestine Conference held May 28 at An-Najah University in Nablus, Palestine. 
  2. Amy E. Borden, film studies, finished a week researching ethnic representations in American vaudeville and silent cinema at the University of Texas-Austin’s Ransom Research Center, courtesy of a PSU Faculty Development Grant.
  3. Karen Carr, History faculty emeritus, wrote a book titled, “Shifting Currents: A World History of Swimming” that has been awarded the 2023 Monograph Prize by the North American Society for Sport History.
  4. Catherine McNeur, History faculty, was interviewed by the Smithsonian Magazine about the history of American food prices and other topics.
  5. Deborah S. Peterson, Education faculty emerita, and Susan P. Carlile, Education faculty, have won the 2023 Honorable Mention - Outstanding Book Award from the Society of Professors of Education for a book they edited, titled “Improvement Science as a Tool for School Enhancement: Solutions for Better Educational Outcomes.” 
  6. Thea Prieto, English, was selected to be a guest author at Readercon 32 in July.
