C-GEO Giant Maps

Policy for Use of C-GEO Giant Maps

C-GEO has several copies of the Giant Maps of Oregon located throughout the state. There are also two versions, one created by C-GEO and one created by National Geographic. You will receive the version of the map that is housed at the location where you pick up the map. We have one copy each of the World Map and the U.S. Relief Map, which are usually kept at PSU or WOU. When you request an Oregon map we will try to reserve the Giant Map closest to your location (usually PSU, WOU or Central Oregon).

When a teacher requests the Giant Map, C-GEO will confirm the reservation of the map with an email, copied to the teacher's principal or supervisor. If the map is not returned by the due date, C-GEO will contact the principal or supervisor to request immediate return of the map. If the map is not received, the school or organization will be invoiced for the cost of the map ($3,000).

The person who requests the Giant Map is responsible for picking it up and returning it to the same place, properly packed in the re-useable container.

Charge for using the Giant Map:

For C-GEO Teacher Consultants there is no fee.

$25 For educators who are not Teacher Consultants, due when the map is picked up. If picking up from PSU or WOU, checks should be payable to Portland State University. If picking up from another location you will be informed at the time of confirmation how to make payment.

The Giant Maps of Oregon measure approximately 14' by 21' and work best in a large space such as a library or gymnasium.

Borrowers of any C-GEO Giant Map must complete a survey upon completion of use. See the link below.
