The Design Thinking / Innovation / Entrepreneurship (DTIE) cluster empowers students to develop the skills to deeply understand human and environmental needs and to address them with creative products and services.

Entrepreneurship Certificate (SBA)
Worried about getting a job? How about learning how to CREATE jobs? The entrepreneurship certificate is a four-course certificate that takes the student from concept to reality. Create, have fun, connect, inspire, and learn the steps to implementing your visions!

Impact Entrepreneurs
Founded in 2010 in Portland State University's School of Business Administration, Impact Entrepreneurs is unleashing the promise of business for social impact. We are a network of individuals and organizations committed to fostering economic, social, and ecological prosperity through entrepreneurial action.

Launch-in-9 (SBA, ETM, MCECS)
Launch-in-9 takes teams of engineering and business students through a nine-month process that will result in the formation of student-led start-up companies. Teams are supported through a mix of coursework, mentoring, and hands-on project work and can obtain up to $2,500 in start-up financing. Students will work on their own business ideas while earning class and capstone credits. They will own and run the businesses they start.

The Business of Social Innovation certificate equips you with the latest tools and approaches to tackle the world’s biggest challenges. Together, the four courses in this majority-online program will enable you to deeply examine a social or environmental problem of your choice and design a new business, nonprofit organization, or internal program to address that problem.
