  1. Bright Alozie, Black studies faculty, was interviewed on the importance of critical race theory in schools for The Franklin Post. 
  2. Mary C. King, economics faculty emerita, and Robert Liebman, sociology faculty emeritus, organized a Portland State University-American Association of University Professors Retirees Caucus on Nov. 10.
  3. Paul Loikith, geography faculty, was featured in a KATU news segment and article, “Heavy Rain Helps Pacific Northwest With Drought, Hurts Snowpack.” 
  4. Anne McClanan, art history faculty, was awarded a place in the multi-year virtual reality project, Immersive Global Middle Ages NEH Institute for Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities.
  5. Thea Prieto, English faculty, won the Red Hen Novella Award for her book “From the Caves,” which has also been named a finalist in the 2021 Best Book Awards, sponsored by American Book Fest.
  6. Emily Shafer, sociology faculty, was quoted in The Atlantic article, “A Patriarchal Tradition That Just Won’t Budge.”
  7. Greg Townley, psychology faculty, received the 2021 Outstanding Researcher Award for Psychology from Columbia-Willamette Chapter of Sigma Xi.
