Tom Potiowsky Scholarship

When Tom Potiowsky retired at the end of the academic year 2017, his friends and colleagues established a scholarship in honor Tom’s contributions to economics education and public service to the state of Oregon. Each year, we try to award this scholarship to an undergraduate student who is the first generation college student with a strong interest in economics. The amount for the scholarship varies from year to year due to the amount of available funding.

Economics Department Foundation Account

The general Foundation account for the Department of Economics is used to provide yearly student awards such as the Linda Hamilton Award and the Carl Campbell Award.  Each year, the faculty members of the Economics Department get together to choose the students for those two awards.  The awards can be anywhere from $300 to $500.  We also use this account for recruitment of faculty and to host guest speakers for the departmental seminar series.
