The Persistence Coordinator for Services for Students with Children (SSWC) provides leadership for serving BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color) students with children and supports direct service programs at Portland State University.
The Coordinator supports the mission of SSWC by providing support and outreach to all students with children while primarily supporting and focusing on students of color. This position provides coordination and leadership for:
- maintaining a trauma-informed drop-in space, acting as point person for outward-facing services in the Resource Center for Students with Children
- planning and coordinating culturally-specific programming for BIPOC students with children
- providing student advocacy with instructors
- Provides crisis intervention, resources and referrals to students; trains student employees/interns on providing this support
- Collaborates with SSWC staff and stakeholders to revise policies and procedures, centering BIPOC voices.
This is a 1.0 position with full benefits. The annual starting salary for this position is $52,824.
