UPP Collaborators & Affiliates:

The UPP supports a variety of researchers working at the USGS and PSU. The UPP Collaborators List provides more information on UPP affiliates and their areas of interest. If you would like to add your name to the affiliate list please fill out this form.

The UPP Seed Grants

To further our understanding of water science, the UPP offers awards biennially for research projects that include one principal investigator from USGS and one from PSU. The intent is to fund research that can serve as the foundation for larger proposals to the National Science Foundation (NSF), US Department of Energy (DOE), or other funding organizations.

UPP Winter and Spring Science Seminars

The UPP's monthly science seminars will be in March, April, and May 2025. Join PSU faculty, USGS staff, and students to learn from and share valuable water science research. Each seminar will focus on a different water topic and includes a presentation by a PSU faculty member, USGS staff, or both. This is followed by a Q&A session.

Tuition Waivers

The UPP has four tuition waivers annually to support our programs. These are used primarily for students working on UPP-funded seed grants. One waiver is typically reserved for a USGS employee who is pursuing a graduate degree full-time.

Research References

Visit Water@PSU's research references page for water data sources! This is intended to be a starting point rather than the all-inclusive list, but if you know of a great resource that is missing, share it with waterpsu@pdx.edu and they’ll add it to the list.
