Located in Science Building 1, first floor south hallway
When a student mural project was proposed for Science Building 1, science faculty in the building were asked what concepts they would like to see the student designers focus on. Common themes among the faculty suggestions were vibrant colors, limitlesness and curiosity, along with the idea that "since many different science departments utilize the space, there shouldn't be images that are associated with one particular field over other fields."
About the artists
Cosmic Expanse was created by Una Kim's summer mural class, ART 399: Murals A-Z, in which students submit proposals for a site-specific mural and then collaborate on the execution of one selected design. Several murals created by this class in various years can be found around campus.
