Natural Ties, 2017
Acrylic on canvas
Located in Cramer Hall's east stairwell at the Broadway entrance
A sectional painted mural in with a stylized collage aesthetic, depicting animal/human hybrids alongside phrases such as "be savage" and "be wild and soar." The mural is composed of seven panels of varying sizes, arranged in two contiguous compositions on either side of the stairwell.
About the artists
Natural Ties was created by Una Kim's summer mural class, ART 399: Murals A-Z, in which students submit proposals for a site-specific mural and then collaborate on the execution of one selected design. Several murals created by this class in various years can be found around campus.
PSU alumnus Shannen Muhl's work can be seen on his website, and Una Kim's own work can be found here.
