Getting Started at PSU

Undergraduate Transfer

For students who want to finish their degrees or want to transfer from another school, PSU offers fully online and flexible degrees.

To complete your degree at PSU, apply online as a transfer student and submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended.

Students already enrolled at community college Co-Admission Partner Institutions can apply for co-admission and take courses at PSU and the community college.

International

Portland State University cannot issue I-20s for F1 students who have been admitted to fully online degree programs. If you are admitted to a fully online program, you will not be able to apply for a student visa to travel to the U.S. to study.

You may apply for part-time or full-time studies, with no visa required, if you will only be taking PSU online courses and will not be entering the U.S. with a student visa.  For additional information about coming to Portland State as an international student, please review these webpages:

    Graduate and Postbaccalaureate

    Students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree have many graduate-level online program options at PSU including master’s degrees, certificate, endorsement and licensure programs, in addition to the option of earning a second undergraduate degree.

    For students seeking certificates of completion and licensures, be sure to review the details for your Online Program and follow the departmental application deadlines, procedures, and requirements.

    Students interested in taking individual online courses outside of a formal program of study should enter PSU as a non-degree student.
