Minor in Systems Science

The Systems Minor offers coursework in methods for approaching complex systems. Options include opportunities to design conceptual models using graphical understanding, or computational models to simulate system behaviors. Systems thinking has been used in the natural sciences, Social Sciences, Arts and Letters, and Engineering. Dynamics of biological or ecological systems, evolution of cooperation, and networks in society are a few of the topics offered by this new minor.

The minor fits well within several University Studies clusters and will complement a variety of majors. It introduces ways to interpret information such as taking conceptual approaches to behaviors traditionally understood in differential equations, game theory for decision making, and data mining.
