Qin Lian joined The School of Business at Portland State University in 2015. Prior to joining PSU, Qin taught at Louisiana Tech University and North Dakota State University.
Qin’s research focuses on corporate finance, especially on mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, insider trading, securities class action lawsuit, and corporate governance. Her research papers have received a variety of research awards and distinctions, including 2012 Outstanding Article in Journal of Financial Research, the 2009 EFA Outstanding Paper Award in Corporate Finance, the 2008 SFA Outstanding Paper Award in Corporate Finance, and a 2008 FMA Top-Ten Sessions designation. Two of her papers have been featured on the online Harvard Law School Corporate Governance Forum. Qin has published papers in the Journal of Law and Economics, Financial Management, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal of Operational Research, and other finance and business journals.
