THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT ONE OF OUR FUTURE EVENTS IN CENTRAL OREGON, HARNEY COUNTY OR THE DALLES.

The Archaeology Roadshow is back for its 12th year, with events planned in Portland, Bend, Burns/Hines, and The Dalles.

This year’s theme is The Archaeology of Food. Come try salmon, elk, and wappato. Learn how to make a stone tool, throw a spear and build a fire. The family-friendly events give visitors of all ages the chance to learn more about Oregon’s past and its connections to us today, and meet people in our state engaged in this important work.

The event features dozens of exhibits and activities hosted by archaeologists and heritage specialists from universities, Tribes, federal and state agencies, companies and nonprofit organizations. You're also invited to bring personal objects (stone tools, pottery, animal bones) you wish to know more about. We'll have a panel of experts on hand who will interpret your find. No financial appraisals are given.
