  1. Jola Ajibade and Paul Loikith, geography faculty, received a two-year, $381,097 Early Career Innovator grant from the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) for a project titled “Accelerating Knowledge for Integrated, Equitable and Adaptive Resilience planning for Climate-Related Cascading Disasters in the Portland Metro Area.”
  2. Melissa Haeffner, environmental sciences and management faculty, Sahan Dissanayake, economics faculty, Forrest Williams, economics faculty, and Rebecca McLain, director of research at PSU’s National Policy Consensus Center, received a two-year, $299,605 grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to study the role of trust in community acceptance of coastal flood mitigation in two municipalities along the Oregon coast. Hollie Hix-Small, education faculty, and Amy Donaldson, speech and hearing sciences faculty, received an $812,500 grant for their project “Knowledge through Interdisciplinary Training and Experience (KITE)” from the Office of SpecialEducation Programs (OSEP), part of the U.S. Department of Education.
