The purpose of this standard is to define the different types of Odin accounts and when access expires. This standard applies to all PSU Odin computer accounts.
Standards and Procedures
Types of Odin Accounts
To meet a wide range of user needs on campus, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides three types of Odin accounts: Standard Odin Account, Affiliate Odin Account, and Service Odin Account.
- Standard Odin Account
A standard Odin account is created for all faculty, staff, and students.
- Affiliate Odin Account
An Affiliate Odin Account is created for individuals who are not eligible for a Standard Odin Account, but still need to access PSU IT resources. A new Affiliate Odin account must be requested on the individual's behalf by an employee with the access level at or above that of a dean, director, or department head.
- Service Odin Account
A Service Odin Account is typically used as a departmental email account and provides access to Google Apps (Gmail and Google Calendar only).
Odin Account Expiration
OIT follows the guidelines in the Odin Accounts Expiration table below when expiring Odin accounts.
Note: Email messages will bounce back to sender as undeliverable once an Odin account is disabled.
