Portland State University is launching a search to hire the next Dean of the School of Social Work. We are actively seeking nominations and applications and more details about the search will be available soon.
School of Social Work Dean to Step Down - 2/25/13
David Springer, dean of the School of Social Work, recently announced that he is leaving Portland State at the end of the summer because of family issues. Springer came to the University from University of Texas – Austin, and he will return to its faculty in the fall.
Nancy Koroloff Returns As Interim Social Work Dean - 4/8/13
Provost Sona Andrews has announced that Nancy Koroloff has accepted the position of interim dean of the School of Social Work. In addition to her role as professor, Koroloff has served as director of the Regional Research Institute for Human Services and vice provost for Research and Sponsored Projects. She was interim dean of the School of Social Work in 2011-12 and will return to the post after the departure of the Dean David Springer in June. Koroloff's appointment will continue through June 30, 2014 or until a new dean is identified through a national search.
