IOA researchers publish "A National Typology of Health Service Regulation in Assisted Living"

Dr. Paula Carder and IOA affiliate Dr. Lindsey Smith along with collaborators at the University of North Carolina Sheps Center for Health Services Research and Brown University School of Public Health, produced "A National Typology of Health Service Regulation in Assisted Living" - now published in The Gerontologist. 

Focusing on medication administration, third-party care, skilled nursing, medication review, and licensed nurse staffing, the study team assessed regulatory specificity. Using these scores and a combination of structure, process, and resident outcome data, they identified six unique types of assisted living options related to health services in the U.S.
