Vice President for Public Affairs and Chief of Staff
Lois joined the Portland State family in August 2009 after twenty three years at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). While at OHSU, Lois served as Vice President for Public Affairs and Marketing and (prior to that) as Director of Government Relations.
Lois was recruited to OHSU in 1987 after seven years with then-Congressman Ron Wyden, first as his press aide and later as Chief of Staff. Prior to her service with Wyden, Lois worked as a newspaper reporter at the Springfield News.
A 1977 graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in journalism, Lois also studied law at Willamette University for two years before leaving to work for Ron Wyden.
As Chief of Staff to PSU President Wim Wiewel, Lois is responsible for overseeing the government relations, communications and marketing functions of PSU, as well as helping to implement executive level projects and policies that further the mission, vision and values of the university.
Associate Vice President for Government Relations
Debbie moved to Oregon in 2000 from Memphis, Tennessee. She earned her B.A. in History from Mississippi State University. When she isn't rooting for the Vikings, you can find her decked out in Maroon and White and ringing her cowbell.
Debbie currently lives in a very crowded and loving home in Salem. Her family includes husband Bob, two-year-old daughter Annie, five-year-old son Bo, sixteen-year-old brother Clarence, canine daughters Daphne Marie, DeeDee, and Lula Belle, and grandparents Sue and Ken.
Assistant Director for Government Relations
Alyson joined Portland State in January 2013. She is a graduate of Oregon State University Honors College, where she received a degree in Psychology. While attending Oregon State University she began working in the Oregon Legislature, where she worked for six years before joining the Government Relations Team at PSU. As a honored member of President Wiewel's team, Alyson enjoys using her skill of problem solving and creative solutions.
Alyson is a native resident of Portland. She and her husband, Max, are experiencing the joy and exhaustion of being parents to their two young sons, Elliot and Theodore. They enjoy spending time together as a family and are excited to watch their sons learn and grow.
Public Affairs Coordinator
Brooke joined the Office of Government Relations in October 2015. She received her bachelors degree in Environmental Studies from Portland State. While she was a student at PSU, Brooke worked in the Office's of the President and the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. After graduating, she was the Executive Assistant and Board Liaison at All Hands Raised, an education non-profit focused on improving education outcomes for kids in Multnomah County. Brooke moved to Portland from central California in 2010 and thoroughly enjoys the grey weather and close proximity to the beautiful natural areas and amazing food options.
Tammy relocated to Portland from the East Coast in May 2014. She is currently a graduate student in PSU's Public Administration Program, specializing in Local Government. This is Tammy's second year serving as the graduate assistant for the Office of Government Relations. As the graduate assistant, Tammy is excited that she can relate much of her work experience to her academics.
Tammy received her B.A. in Political Science from Bridgewater College, located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. As an undergraduate, she enjoyed serving on student government and mentored with Big Brothers Big Sisters. She also served as an intern with Virigina House Representative Steve Landes.
Eric graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a minor in Civic Leadership from PSU. Prior to earning his BA, he served in student government as the Legislative Director for three years (two at Linn-Benton Community College) and as the 2014-15 Student Body President at PSU. He is currently pursuing a Master's of Public Policy in the Hatfield School of Government at PSU with a focus in higher education policy and governance.
Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff and VP for Public Affairs
Susy is the Executive Assistant to the President's Chief of Staff and VP for Public Affairs, Lois Davis. She is also the Administrative Assistant for PSU's Office of Government Relations. Susy has been working in higher education since 1996 and started at PSU in 2007. She has been working for the President's Office and Government Relations since 2012.
Susy's oldest daughter, Haley, is a 2013 graduate of OSU and works for Southern Oregon Head Start. Her daughter, Lexington, lives here in Portland and will graduate from PSU in Spring of 2016 with a degree in Social Science.
