Dean of Student Life Office of the Dean of Student Life The office of the Dean of Student Life (DOSL) is a resource for all students, faculty, and staff as they navigate Portland State University. DOSL serves as a reference point for those seeking to resolve issues of concern or advance initiatives designed to enhance the student experience. DOSL Programs PSU CARES PSU CARES connects students with resources when they are experiencing distress and/or other issues that might impact their ability to function at their best in and outside of the classroom. Student Conduct Student Conduct administers policies and regulations that help the University to operate in a climate of free inquiry and expression, and supports the academic and educational purposes of the University. Title IX Portland State University is committed to supporting students’ safe access to their education, and employees to their work environment. Sexual assault, sexual/gender-based harassment, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking are all prohibited at PSU. Students have many options for accessing support, both on and off campus. Basic Needs Hub The Basic Needs Hub provides students with one place to stop for all concerns related to providing for basic needs support. Its mission is to connect PSU students to resources in the moment of need so students can focus on academics, career goals, and interpersonal relationships. STEP The STEP program helps SNAP eligible students gain skills and access training to increase their ability to gain employment. Students are provided with individual case management services focused on retention, helping each student to reach the critical point of graduation. Food Pantry All PSU Students may choose their own free supplemental groceries at the PSU Food Pantry. The PSUFP website includes frequently updated information about where to find free food on or near campus, as well as current hours, policies, and information about how to use the Pantry. Queer Resource Center The Queer Resource Center supports queer and trans students at Portland State University to achieve their educational goals through advocacy, community, and celebration. They prioritize a racial justice framework to improve campus climate through education, policy change, and campus-wide organizing. Services for Students with Children Services for Students with Children aims to increase resources and opportunities for students with children so they can receive the supports and services needed to complete their academic goals and provide a brighter future for themselves and their children. Women's Resource Center The Women's Resource Center advocates for the best educational and campus experience for all members of our community. They accomplish this by advancing social justice, ensuring access to personal empowerment for students of all genders, and by working toward a safe and healthy campus.
