Our faculty and advisors partnered to create Career Pathways Guides to help students plan the courses they will take, provide info on associated careers, and list electives that complement each career choice. Other resources for planning your career starting at PSU include Advising & Career Services, Handshake (PSU's official resource for career development), and Portland State’s Pre-Health programs, which support a range of volunteer and internship opportunities that connect students with healthcare professionals and patients. 

The curriculum, faculty, library, and facilities of the Department of Chemistry are accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS). Graduating chemistry majors are eligible for certification to become members of the ACS after two years of professional service.
