Ride-Along

The Portland State University Campus Public Safety Office (CPSO) may allow community members the opportunity to accompany and observe a Campus Police Officer while in the performance of the officer’s duties. This community outreach program seeks to expose community members to the role of the campus officer, and to provide general insight into the challenges of policing a university campus.

If you are interested in participating, please print and fill out the Ride-Along Form.  Completed forms should be dropped off at the CPSO front counter.  A supervisor will review individual requests, and upon approval contact participants to schedule their ride-along.  If you have already arranged your ride through an officer, please indicate this on the form.

CPSO requires a criminal background check for all individuals who wish to participate in this program.  Your signature on the form indicates your knowledge and consent for this background check.  All potential riders under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian's signature.

Further information on this program may be obtained by contacting Sgt. Willie Halliburton @5-9361 or willie@pdx.edu
