Spring people

 

  1. Jola Ajibade, geography faculty, was interviewed by Vermont Public Radio on May 20 for a segment titled, “What is Climate Change?” on “But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids.” 
  2. Julia Freybote, business faculty, wrote a paper, “Investor Sentiment and Prepayment Hazard: The Case of Multifamily MBS Loans,” that received the award for the best paper published in the Journal of Real Estate Research in 2021.
  3. Evan Green, executive director for Justice, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in The School of Business and Yamile Nataren Fuentes, admissions counselor for Multicultural Recruitment and Outreach, received 2022 Distinguished Staff Awards at the President’s Diversity Awards.
  4. Cristina Herrera, Chicano and Latino studies faculty and director; and Jeff Conn, speech and hearing sciences faculty, received Distinguished Faculty Awards at the 2022 President’s Diversity Awards.
  5. Thea Prieto, English, recently participated in an author event at Lost City Books in Washington, D.C. to discuss her book, “From the Caves.”
  6. Ken Stedman, biology faculty, received the 2022 ARIS Impact Goals award from the Center for Advancing Research Impact in Society.
  7. Dilafruz Williams, education faculty, facilitated a session called “Garden Education Programs, Partnerships and Resources at the Environmental Literacy Summit” in Santa Clara County, California, on April 30.
