Canvas is coming to PSU, which means that you will have so many new options and pedagogical flexibility as an instructor. No one knows this better than the PSU faculty who have been piloting Canvas this year, and now they are ready to share what they have learned!

Join the Canvas Consortium to learn to design courses and teach confidently in this new learning environment. Alongside PSU teaching colleagues, you will get the chance to:

• Review Canvas course assets and examples from a range of disciplines and contexts
• Design consistent weekly module organizational structure in Canvas
• Evaluate Canvas course assets for accessibility
• Design peer-to-peer Canvas learning experience to meet instructional goals
• Consider Canvas-facilitated assessment practices to support student learning
• Explore digital design strategies informed by universal design for learning, trauma-informed practice, and culturally sustaining pedagogies

August Cohort - August 16th - August 27th, 2021
October Cohort - October 4th - October 15th, 2021 Registration open August 2 to Sept 17, 2021.
Oct/November Cohort - October 25th - November 5th, 2021 Registration open August 2 to October 1, 2021.

Whether you have been teaching online or blended courses regularly or have been using D2L to support in-person learning, this group is for you. The Canvas Consortium is fully online, asynchronous, and runs for 2 weeks with structured online activities and staggered due dates. It will take place in Canvas with no required meetings, and is a paid assignment with OAI. Actual agreement terms and conditions will be reviewed and shared with you through email and Banweb notifications before the start date of your cohort.
